Sir William rescued and adopted by Char
The day he was scheduled to be euthanized became Willy’s lucky day; three people decided to try something different. We pulled his wedge pads and glue-on shoes, trimmed his feet into a more natural form and began the process of healing. That was over three years ago. He has had daily hand walking, foot soaks, homeopathic care and a more natural lifestyle. I began riding him with Old Mac’s on his feet after 6 months. Willy and I have learned and grown together, but it hasn’t always been easy. There have been moments of doubt about his ability to overcome the effects of severe and chronic laminitis. There were never any moments of regret; it has been a great ride. Whether we go out for a quiet walk in the woods, or he teaches me some fancy dressage moves in the ring, Willy has been a wonderful teacher.
