Bella

rescued and adopted by Belinda & Duane

The very first time I spotted Red (Bella) I knew immediately I needed to rescue her.  She was in a field with several other horses all under weight and not given much attention. She was very under weight and hadn't been trimmed in a very long time.  When I walked up to her she stood quietly.... our eyes connected...we both knew at that instant that we needed each other.  She was so beautiful...just standing there ... I named her belle... the belle of the ball... I told her I was there to help and would be back for her.  It took almost a year to get custody of her but I was determined not to give up. Today she is on our farm in Pennsylvania, grazing on 30 acres.  She is at a healthy weight and is trimmed regularly.  She is my beautiful Bella....

Bella's hooves had never been trimmed without sedation and obviously, prior to the rescue, she had not been trimmed for a long time. Duane managed to trim her after Belinda sweet talked Bella with help of essential oils (Lavender). Great team work, no needles!
